Chepstow is a town in south-eastern Monmouthshire, adjoining the border with Gloucestershire. It is located on the River Wye, close to its confluence with the River Severn. Chepstow is most notable for its castle, the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain, and for Chepstow Racecourse which hosts the Welsh Grand National. The town is within the council area of Monmouthshire.
