Sand, Devon (Tudor House)
Sand is a late 16th-century house near Sidmouth, Devon. The house is the ancient seat of the Sands, Ashleys and Huyshes. The present house was built by Rowland Huyshe around 1594. There are remains of heraldic glass in the Great Hall window. It is within the council area of East Devon (Devon).

Sandal Castle, Yorkshire (Mediæval Castle)
Sandal Castle is a ruined mediæval castle in Sandal Magna, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. The castle began as a motte-and-bailey castle in the early 12th century. During the 13th century the keep, curtain wall and other buildings were rebuilt in stone. It fell into ruin after a Civil War seige. Shakespeare's play Henry VI, Part 3 (Act 1, Scene 2) is set in Sandal Castle. The site is within the council area of Wakefield.

Sandham Memorial Chapel, Hampshire (Ecclesiastical Monument)
Sandham Memorial Chapel is a 1920s decorated chapel in Burghclere, Hampshire. It was designed by Lionel Godfrey Pearson and built to accommodate a series of paintings by Stanley Spencer. It was commissioned by Mary and John Louis Behrend (1881–1972) as a memorial to Mary's brother, Lieutenant Henry Willoughby Sandham who died of illness contracted in Macedonia after the First World War. The chapel is surrounded by lawns and orchards, with views of Watership Down. It is in the care of the National Trust. It is within the council area of Basingstoke and Deane (Hampshire).

Sandhills Stonce, Nottinghamshire (Civil War Relic)
Sandhills Stonce is a Civil War sconce constructed by the Royalist forces defending Newark, Nottinghamshire. The remains include earthworks defining an irregular star-shaped platform up to 25ft in height and covering an area around 150ft by 155ft. The monument is one of several fieldworks constructed by the defending Royalist garrison prior to the final siege of Newark between November 1645 and May 1646. The monument is within the council area of Newark and Sherwood (Nottinghamshire).

Sandleford Priory, Berkshire (Ecclesiastical Monument)
Sandleford Priory is a former Augustinian monastery and later country house near Greenham, Berkshire. The Priory of St John the Baptist at Sandleford was founded for the Augustinian Canons Regular by Geoffrey, Earl of Perch and his wife Maud some time between 1193 and 1202. The number of canons at the priory eventually dwindled until at the death of the last prior in 1478. The estate was given to the Dean and Canons of Windsor. They leased it out as a farm to various tenants before the Kingsmill family from Sydmonton Court converted it into a country house. This was subsequently much extended and elaborated by Mrs. Elizabeth Montagu. The site is within the council area of West Berkshire.

Sandown Castle, Kent (Tudor Fort)
Sandown Castle is the remains of an artillery fort constructed by Henry VIII near Deal, Kent. It formed part of the King's Device programme to protect against invasion from France and the Holy Roman Empire, and defended the strategically important Downs anchorage off the English coast. It remained in military use until 1863, after which it was largely demolished and some of it incorporated into the sea wall. A rockery has been built upon the western part of the castle. The surviving remains include a segment of the central keep and the south-west and north-west bastions. The monument is within the council area of Dover (Kent).

Sandsfoot Castle, Dorset (Tudor Fort)
Sandsfoot Castle (aka Weymouth Castle) is a ruined artillery fort constructed by Henry VIII near Weymouth, Dorset. It formed part of the King's Device programme to protect against invasion from France and the Holy Roman Empire, and defended the Weymouth Bay anchorage. The stone castle had an octagonal gun platform, linked to a residential blockhouse, and was completed by 1542. By the early 18th century, Sandsfoot was in ruins, its stonework taken for use in local building projects. It is within the council area of Dorset.
