Fen Causeway, Cambridgeshire   (Roman Remains)

Fen Causeway (aka Fen Road) is a Roman road that runs from Denver, Norfolk to Upton, Northamptonshire, crossing much of the fenland of Cambridgeshire. Its path covers 24 miles, passing March and Eldernell in Cambridgeshire before joining Ermine Street near Upton, Northamptonshire. The road is thought to have been raised above the marshy fens using gravel, with a width of up to 60 feet. The causeway crosses the modern-day A605 to the east of Eldernell, Cambridgeshire. This stretch of the routeway is within the council area of Fenland (Cambridgeshire).
