Yon Barrow, Dorset
Yon Barrow is a prehistoric bowl barrow near Bere Regis, Dorset. It is situated on a ridge, known as Lockyer's Hill, overlooking the Piddle Valley. The barrow has a mound composed of earth, sand and turf, with maximum dimensions of 50ft in diameter and about 7ft in height. The mound is surrounded by a ditch from which material was quarried during its construction, visible as an earthwork 5ft wide and about 1ft deep. It is within the council area of Dorset.
