Worcester Park, Surrey
Worcester Park is a suburban town in Surrey. The Worcester Park estate itself was once part of the larger Great Park. Worcester Park House (1607), originally one of the residences of the 4th Earl of Worcester, burnt down in 1948 and little remains. Small-scale development followed the opening of Worcester Park railway station in 1859, including the construction of St Mary's Church (1895), but the area remained largely rural until it saw large-scale suburban development in the 1920s and 1930s. Worcester Park is now contiguous with Old Malden to its north. The town is within the council areas of Epsom and Ewell (Surrey) and Sutton.
