Woolton, Lancashire

Woolton is a former village (aka Much Woolton) that is now a suburb of in Liverpool, Lancashire. The area (Much Woolton township) became more suburbanised throughout the 19th century and was incorporated into the county borough of Liverpool in 1913. John Lennon's childhood home (251 Menlove Avenue) and the former childen's home Strawberry Field are both in Woolton. It is within the council area of Liverpool.
