Woodingdean, Sussex
Woodingdean is a suburban village in Sussex. Woodingdean grew up after the First World War as plots of land on the South Down were sold off and first generation shacks and houses began to appear. The area was included in the municipal area of Brighton in 1928 and was extensively developed from the 1950s. It is regarded as an eastern suburb of Brighton although it is separated from the town by downland and Brighton Racecourse. It is within the council area of Brighton and Hove
