Woodhenge, Wiltshire
Woodhenge is a Neolithic henge and timber circle monument near Durrington, Wiltshire. The site consists of six concentric oval rings of postholes, the outermost being about 141 by 131ft wide. They are surrounded first by a single flat-bottomed ditch, 8ft deep and up to 40ft wide, and finally by an outer bank, about 33ft wide and 3ft high. Its relationship to the many other prehistoric sites in the area is the subject of much debate and conjecture. The monument is within the council area of Wiltshire.
