Woodburn, Antrim
Woodburn is a village to the north-west of Carrickfergus, County Antrim. It is within the townlands of Middle Division and West Division, in the civil parish of Carrickfergus. The village developed around several mills along the Woodburn River. The linen industry grew during the 19th century with the establishment of the Woodburn Mill (later the Woodburn Weaving Factory) and the Woodburn Bleach Works. The post-war era saw the decline of the linen industry and the development of the village as a suburb of Carrickfergus. The area is within the council area of Mid and East Antrim.
