Woodberry, Middlesex

Woodberry (or Woodberry Down) is an urban area in the north-west of the metropolitan district of Stoke Newington, Middlesex. The area, which lies within a loop of the New River and which borders Finsbury Park, was developed from the late 19th century. Once known as "the posh end of Stoke Newington", the area was completed redeveloped as a social housing estate from the mid 1930s. The 21st century has seen further large-scale redevelopment. It is within the council area of Hackney.
