Wolsingham, Durham

Wolsingham is a market town in County Durham, at the confluence of the River Wear and Waskerley Beck. It is Anglo-Saxon in origin and one of the first market towns in County Durham. The town retains many historic, stone-built buildings. Three cottages at Whitfield Place on Front Street are the oldest properties in Wolsingham, one of them dates 1677. The heritage Weardale Railway runs through the town. It is within the council area of County Durham.
