Wishaw, Lanarkshire
Wishaw is a town in Lanarkshire, on the edge of the Clyde Valley, 15 miles south-east of Glasgow. It forms a contiguous urban area with Motherwell. The original village was laid out in 1794, named Cambusnethan, and later renamed "Wishawtown" before being incorporated into a burgh in 1855. The town is within the council area of North Lanarkshire.
