Winterton, Lincolnshire

Winterton is a small town in Lincolnshire, in the Parts of Lindsey. Winterton's history goes back to Roman times and several large mosaic floors and other Roman remains have been found. The Winterton Lady, the skeleton of a Romano-British woman buried in a limestone sarcophagus, was discovered in 1968. The Winterton Agricultural Show is a major event. The town is within the council area of North Lincolnshire.
