Winshill, Derbyshire

Winshill is a suburban village in Derbyshire. It lies to the east the River Trent, across from Burton-on-Trent, of which it is now often considered a suburb. The village dates back until at least the late 11th century. Winshill became popular in the 19th century with prosperous citizens of Burton. Large-scale suburban development followed in the 20th century. Winshill is within the council area of Burton upon Trent (Staffordshire).
