Windy Nook, Durham

Windy Nook is a former village which is now a suburban area to the south of Felling, County Durham. Windy Nook has a long industrial history, the principal industry being stone quarrying. The settlement grew as this industry flourished. The decline in industry have seen the area became a residential suburb. It is within the council area of Gateshead.
