Wincobank, Yorkshire
Wincobank is a suburb of Sheffield, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. In the early 19th century the area contained the hamlets of Wincobank (later known as High Wincobank) and Nether Wincobank (later known as Low Wincobank). Later development around these hamlets eventually formed a contiguous suburb. An Iron Age hillfort stands on a hill above the River Don. It is within the council area of Sheffield.
