Wilmslow, Cheshire

Wilmslow is a market town in Cheshire. Wilmslow remained a small village until the arrival of the railway in 1842, after which it grew as a desirable place of residence for wealthy businessmen. It remains well known for its wealthy and famous residents. Sports equipment manufacturer Umbro was founded in the town in 1924 and has its headquarters there. The town is within the council area of Cheshire East.
