Willesden Green, Middlesex

Willesden Green is an urban area in the east of Willesden, Middlesex. Willesden Green developed as a hamlet based around a large green near the centre of the parish of Willesden. The Metropolitan Railway opened Willesden Green and Cricklewood station between the hamlets of Willesden and Cricklewood in 1879, after which Willesden and Cricklewood were quickly developed. The Spotted Dog public house, dating from 1762, was famous in the 19th century for its pleasure gardens. Its façade has been retained, fronting apartments. The area is within the council area of Brent.
