Whitton, Middlesex
Whitton is a suburban area situated north-west of Twickenham, Middlesex. Whitton remained a quiet country village, renowned for its market gardening, well into the 20th century. The village rapidly became suburbanised following the opening of Whitton railway station in 1930. Whitton is now contiguous with Twickenham to its east and Hounslow to its north. Whitton has a well-preserved 1930s high street. The area is within the council area of Richmond upon Thames.
