Whitchurch, Somerset
Whitchurch is a suburban village in Somerset. The name means "the white church", and was first recorded in 1230. There was a substantial amount of suburban development around the village in the 20th century. The suburban development to the north and west of the village, though regarded as part of Whitchurch, is often considered an outer suburb of Bristol. The village centre is within the council area of Bath and North East Somerset with much of the suburban area being within the council area of Bristol.
