Whirlow Brook Hall, Derbyshire

Whirlow Brook Hall is an early 20th-century country house on the south bank of Limb Brook in Derbyshire. The house was built in 1906 by Percy Fawcett, a director of Thomas Firth & Sons. The house has an elevated terrace giving fine views over Ecclesall Woods to Abbeydale. His sister, Lily Marguerite Jones, and her husband Sir Walkter Jones later lived at the house and developed the grounds to include a Japanese rock garden, rose garden, rockery, shrubberies, two ponds and a lake. The grounds were opened to the public in 1951 as Whirlow Brook Park. It is within the council area of Sheffield.
