West Kennett Avenue, Wiltshire
West Kennett Avenue (sometimes written as West Kennet Avenue and also known as Kennett Avenue or Kennet Avenue) is a prehistoric avenue of standing stones running between the Neolithic sites of Avebury and the Sanctuary in Wiltshire. Excavations by Stuart in the 1930s indicated that around 100 pairs of standing stones had lined the avenue, dated to around 2200 BC. There are currently 27 upright stones and 37 concrete pillars marking original stone locations. The monument is in the care of the National Trust. It is within the council area of Wiltshire.
