West Hartburn, Durham

West Hartburn is a deserted village about three miles east of Darlington in County Durham. First recorded in around 1200, the remains are visible as low, well preserved earthworks situated on gently sloping ground. The central feature of the village is a long narrow green running south-west to north-east. It is within the council area of Darlington.
