West Green, Middlesex

West Green is a former village that is now an urban area in the west of Tottenham, Middlesex. West Green developed in the Middle Ages as a small village in the centre of the ancient parish of Tottenham, to the west of the main settlement of Tottenham (on Ermine Street). It remained almost entirely rural until around 1860, after which it was quickly surrounded by the growing town of Tottenham, especially after the opening of West Green railway station in 1878. The area is within the council area of Haringey.
