Watlington, Oxfordshire
Watlington is a small market town in Oxfordshire. The town of Watlington lies at the foot of Watlington Hill, a 790ft peak on the western edge of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Watlington White Mark, a chalk-cut figure resembling a church spire, was designed by local squire Edward Horne and cut into the hill in 1764. The town is within the council area of South Oxfordshire (Oxfordshire).
