Watling Street, Bedfordshire

Watling Street is a historic route, running from Dover to Wroxeter, including a section through Bedfordshire. First used by the ancient Britons, the road was later paved by the Romans. The section of Watling Street through Bedfordshire forms part of the present-day A505 and A5. It enters the county near Dunstable and leaves it near the hamlet of Sheeplane.
