Waterloo, Lancashire
Waterloo is a suburb of Crosby, Lancashire. The area, next to the Mersey took its name from the Royal Waterloo Hotel opened on 18 June 1816, the first anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. Waterloo comprises Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian housing. For local government purposes the area was part of the municipal borough of Crosby from 1937-1974. It is within the council area of Sefton.
