Washington, Durham
Washington is a town in County Durham. Washington is a new town, designated as such in 1964, which consists of a number of small "villages", some based around existing villages (e.g. Usworth, Biddick, Fatfield, Harraton). The original village of Washington is now known as Washington Village. The town is within the council area of Sunderland.
