Wallasey, Cheshire

Wallasey is a town in Cheshire, at the north-east end of the Wirral peninsula. The town of Wallasey developed as several villages (Liscard, Wallasey, New Brighton, Poulton, Egremont, Seacombe) grew together during the 19th and 20th centuries. The original villages retain distinct identities. From 1913-1974, for local government purposes, the town formed the basis of the county borough of Wallasey. Wallasey Town Hall (1916) is in the Neoclassical style. The town is within the council area of Wirral.
