Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire
Waddesdon Manor is a late 19th-century country mansion at Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire. It was built from 1874-1889 for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild as a weekend residence and to house his collection of arts and antiquities. It is mostly in a Neo-Renaissance style, copying individual features of several French châteaux. The contents of the house have expanded through generations of the Rothschild family to become one of the most rare and valuable collections in the world. Though James de Rothschild bequeathed the house and its contents to the National Trust in 1957, the house is managed b the Rothschild Foundation. It is within the council area of Buckinghamshire.
