MenuVoreda, Cumberland
Voreda is the remains of a Roman Fort in Cumberland. It is a large rectangular platform, measuring some 150 by 100 yards with the central platform still standing to a height of about 8 feet. It was occupied from the 1st to 4th century AD. The vicus appears to have been abandoned in circa AD300. It was built on the Roman road that stretches between Carlisle (Luguvalium) and Brough (Verteris) forts. It is within the council area of Westmorland and Furness.
