Venonis, Leicestershire
Venonis (aka Venonae or Venoni) is the remains of a Roman settlement at High Cross, the point where the Fosse Way and Watling Street meet on the border of Leicestershire and Warwickshire. Historians of the 17th and 18th centuries reported very extensive, visible Roman ruins around High Cross. However, modern archaeology has found more limited evidence, with Venonis today being thought of as a small town. The site is within the council area of Blaby (Leicestershire). Roman Remains.
