Tullaghoge Fort, Tyrone
Tullaghoge Fort is a hilltop ring fort near the hamlet of Tullaghoge, County Tyrone. It is traditionally an ancient ceremonial site where the Chiefs of the Clan O'Neill of Tyrone were inaugurated. The inner area is 105ft across, enclosed by a bank, ditch and outer bank. Its date of construction is not known but believed to be in the Early Christian period. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Mid Ulster.
