Truro, Cornwall

Truro is a cathedral city in Cornwall. The town developed around the 12th-century castle built by Richard de Luci, Chief Justice of England in the reign of Henry II. The city is well known for its charming cobbled streets, open spaces and Georgian architecture, and for Truro Cathedral (completed in 1910). Also found among its streets aRE the Royal Cornwall Museum, the Hall for Cornwall and Cornwall's Courts of Justice. It was granted city status in 1877. The city is within the council area of Cornwall.
