Trewane, Cornwall

Trewane is a manor house near St Kew, Cornwall. It was built for the Nicholls family in the early 17th century. In 1646, it was a suspected hideout for King Charles II during the English Civil War. It is well-regarded for its high-quality Jacobean features, particularly its decorative 17th-century plasterwork. The exterior is a mellow stone construction with mullion windows. Several parts of the Trewane estate have been converted into holiday rentals. It is within the council area of Cornwall.
