Totley, Derbyshire

Totley is a suburban village in Derbyshire. It is listed in Domesday as 'Totinglee'. Totley Hall, now luxury flats, was built in 1623 and enlarged in the 19th century. The Old School Houses dates from 1821. The area was brought within the Sheffield municipal area in 1934 and, although Totley has seen suburban development since then, it retains a village identity and is mostly surrounded by green fields.
