Tooting Graveney, Surrey

Tooting Graveney (or Lower Tooting) is an urban area in the south-west of the metropolitan district of Tooting, Surrey. The name derives from the time in the 12th and 13th centuries when the manor was owned by the Gravenel family. The village became joined with that of Upper Tooting by suburban housing in the 19th century. Lower Tooting is the site of Tooting High Street and Tooting Broadway tube station. The area is within the council area of Wandsworth.
