Toot Hill, Lincolnshire
Toot Hill is the earthwork and buried remains of a mediæval motte-and-bailey castle, situated on the hill of the same name near Withern, Lincolnshire, in the Parts of Lindsey. The site dates to the 11th or 12th century, representing either a fortification dating to the immediate post-Conquest period or to the civil war during King Stephen's reign. Tothill Manor, a 17th-century house, lies within the bailey. The site is within the council area of East Lindsey (Lincolnshire).
