Tolworth, Surrey
Tolworth (formerly Talworth) is a suburban village in Surrey. It is listed in Domesday as 'Taleorde'. Talworth remained a small village until the late 19th century from which time it grew around the brick making industry and the opening of Tolworth isolation hospital in 1889. Major development followed the opening of the Kingston by-pass in 1927. The village is now contiguous with Surbiton to its north-west and Hook to its south-west. It is within the council area of Kingston upn Thames.
