Tokyngton, Middlesex
Tokyngton is a suburban area in the south of Wembley, Middlesex. The manor of Tokyngton (someimtes known as Oakington) was mentioned as early as 1171. The lord of the manor, Sir Audley Neeld, entered into an agreement with Wembley council to develop a ‘garden city’ estate of semi-detached houses in 1913, work continuing into the 1930s. The estate lies between Wembley Park and the River Brent. The area is within the council area of Brent.
