Tigh nam Bodach, Perthshire
Tigh nam Bodach is a miniature stone shieling and possible pagan shrine in Gleann Cailliche, Perthshire. The shieling houses a family of three bell shaped water stones from the river bed of the Lyon. The stones are supposed to represent the Cailleach (Mother Goddess), the Bodach (old Man) and the smaller Nighean (the Daughter). Its date and origins are unknown, but its apparent pagan nature suggest it dates back to at least the early mediæval period. The site is within the council area of Perth and Kinross.
