Tiger's Bay, Antrim
Tiger's Bay is an urban area in the north of Belfast, County Antrim. It is within the townland of Town Parks, in the civil parish of Shankill. The area dates from the late 19th century when it was constructed with very basic housing intended for the unskilled labourers who made up the bulk of the workforce at Harland & Wolff shipyard. The area is known for the historic tensions between its mainly unionist residents and those of the adjoining nationalist New Lodge district. Tiger's Bay is within the council area of Belfast.
