Thurnham Hall, Lancashire

Thurnham Hall is a historic house near Upper Thurnham, Lancashire. The hall is a three-storey stone-built house probably erected by Robert Dalton c. 1556. Its front was rebuilt in 1823 and the chapel was added in 1854-5. It was restored in 1973 following a long period of neglect after it was gutted by fire in 1959. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with an ashlar west front, slate roof and is three storeys high. The house was further restored in 1992, first becoming a country club, and subsequently in 2002 the house was converted into timeshare holiday apartments. It is within the council area of Lancaster (Lancashire).
