Three Shires Oak, Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire / Yorkshire

Three Shires Oak is an oak tree at the tripoint of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Yorkshire. The tree stands in a field bordering the eastern edge of Whitwell Wood. The county borders to the east and north of the tree were defaced in the 20th century, though the hedge that forms the county border to its west remains. The current tree is believed to have been planted in 1951 to replace an earlier tree planted in 1609. The site is within the council area of Bolsover (Derbyshire).
