The Old Manor House, Cambridgeshire

The Old Manor House is a 15th-century house in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire. It was built in the 1450s and is one of the oldest surviving houses in the county. The house is a rare example of a well-preserved late-mediæval manor house. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with red brick added in the 17th century and gault brick added in the 19th. The original mediæval design of a central hall with two cross-wings is still visible. Later additions include a porch and bay windows, added in the 19th century. The Cutts family owned the property from 1549 to 1718. In the 20th century the house was a private residence, and later used as a hospital and school. It is within the council area of South Cambridgeshire (Cambridgeshire).
