The Mount, Shropshire
The Mount is the earthwork and buried remains of a Norman motte castle near Weston, Shropshire. The flat-topped, steep-sided circular motte measures approximately 100ft at its base and between 50ft to 70ft across the top, and stands about 13ft high. The castle occupies an elevated position with commanding views of the north Shropshire plain and the hills of the Welsh borderland beyond. It is within the council area of Shropshire.
