The Moot Hall, Northumberland
The Moot Hall is a mediæval courthouse in Hexham, Northumberland. It comprises a four-storey tower, with a three-storey annex, facing onto the Market Place. Completed in 1379, it served as the main courtroom of Hexhamshire until 1572 and a venue for the midsummer quarter sessions until 1838. In recent times it has been used as an art gallery and museum. It is within the council area of Northumberland.
