The Hall, Yorkshire

The Hall is a the ruins of a moated 15th century manor house at Thornhill, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. The house and moat date from 1450. The hall was destroyed during a Civil War siege in 1648. The ruins comprise a fire-place of rubble, lined in brickwork, and part of a wall containing the sill of a large 2-light window and part of the moulded surround. The moat has survived and is filled with water. The site is within the council area of Kirklees.
