The Five Barrows, Northumberland
The Five Barrows is a Bronze Age round cairn cemetery situated on Holystone Common in Northumberland. There are actually at least 20 cairns of different sizes, ranging from 10 to 60 feet in diameter. They are mainly visible as circular and elongated turf and heather covered mounds of between 1 and 4 feet high. Five of the mounds are more prominent and substantial than the others and so becoming known as 'The Five Barrows'. It is within the council area of Northumberland.
