The Birches, Armagh

The Birches is a small village in County Armagh. It is within the townland of Ballynarry, in the civil parish of Tartaraghan. Until the mid 19th century the area comprised a small woodland named 'The Birches'. This gave its name to 'Birches Cross Roads'. Much later, during the later part of the 20th century, the village was developed around the crossroads. The village is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
